Software as a Service (SaaS) means that computer software is not obtained and installed locally, but via the Internet.

The use of software as a service brings various advantages for healthcare facilities.

A key advantage is that the cloud-based software is accessed via a web browser or an interface from another software system to the application. This means that use is not tied to a specific end device such as a particular computer. This means that doctors, for example, can easily access patient data such as DICOM images from home as part of a background service.

ISO 27001 certification is not awarded to individual products, but to a company's information security management system and is therefore a seal of approval for the measures taken to ensure information and data security when processing data.
