TMD Cloud: C5-tested cloud for hospitals and doctors
Hospitals and other medical facilities may only use cloud-based software whose security standards have been confirmed by a C5 certificate.
The TMD Cloud from Telepaxx has such a C5 certificate. This provides legal certainty when using the cloud for archiving and processing medical image data in the cloud.

Cloud in hospitals: compliant with KRITIS, NIS-2 and DigiG
To ensure maximum protection when processing patient data in the cloud, the Digital Act (DigiG) stipulates that only cloud services that meet the security standards of the BSI's “Cloud Computing Compliance Criteria Catalouge” may be used in healthcare facilities.
This is important for KRITIS hospitals as well as for healthcare facilities that fall under the NIS-2 regulation. Failure to comply with the security standards defined therein can result in severe penalties.
C5 equivalence regulation
Alternative certificates to C5
Due to the short implementation deadline for the new requirements for cloud services in the healthcare sector, the C5 equivalence regulation C5GleichwV - formerly known as the C5 equivalence regulation - was published at the end of March 2025. This stipulates that security certificates comparable to the C5 test certificate, such as ISO 27001 certification, will initially be accepted up to defined deadlines.
However, these transitional regulations expire after 24 months at the latest. For the long-term, legally compliant use of cloud solutions, a C5 certificate is therefore essential for hospitals. This is also because testing in accordance with the C5 criteria offers a higher level of protection than, for example, certification in accordance with the ISO 27001 standard.

- Long-term archive for DICOM data in the TMD Cloud in the public cloud and Telepaxx's own data centers (TMD Cloud Archive and e-pacs Archive)
- Accessing and viewing image data from the cloud (TMD Cloud View)
